A:Yes! Bears, Etc. is our former name. We used the name "Bears Etc." till 2001 when we moved out from Miramar, Florida.

What are Bears in Chairs made of?
A:
Bears in Chairs consist of two groups, our own make and buy-and-sell. Our own make is handmade of resin and other materials that are strong, heavy, hard to break and no smell. The buy-and-sell are the miniatures, mostly handmade, that are used to decorate and further personalize Bears in Chairs gifts. Over 98% content of the product our consumer customers receive from us are our own make.

How are the Custom Gifts Priced?
A:
Most of Bears in Chairs gifts are custom designed. Design your own gift by selecting a base and putting add-ons, with the names and sayings personalized. The base, as shown here, means a couch, loveseat, chair, plaque, business card holder, etc. The add-ons are the small bears and accessories of your choice.
A custom gift price that shows in red in its order form is for the base only. The add-ons are additional. You will see the add-on price in the drop-down menu where you make the selections. We realize this can sometimes be confusing. Since your add-ons can be thousands of different combinations, it is impossible to preset the final price. Pricing the base and adding costs of your selections seems the only sensible way to charge for the custom gifts.

Can I see the accessories displayed in my order I created in Interactive Creation?

No, but you can see the image here.
Accessories NOT displayed, but accepted order will be included in the gift to design.

Can I have my couch updated when changes in my family occur?
A:
You can purchase individual bears to add to your couch yourself and sometimes if there is a location close enough that you can take it personally, they will update it for you. We cannot however; make major changes to your items since we would run the risk of breakage if dismantling was necessary.
If your family has grown considerably, one option would be to purchase a plaque that you could place your existing couch on along with any new members to your family.

Can I buy the pieces individually so that I can make my own creation and write my own message?
A:
Yes, you can order from our A La Carte Menu
which will enable you to pick and choose exactly what items you want, including, couches, bears, accessories and supplies to assemble your unique creation. We recommend using a hot glue gun to attach your bears and accessories to a couch or chair.

Do you include an invoice with the shipment?
A:
A Packing Slip and brochure is included with each order. If the order is shipping to a third party, we assume it is a gift and black out all pricing on the packing slip.

Can I choose the bow color for my girl bears?
A:
The bows come in five different standard colors - red, purple, blue, magenta and pink - which are chosen randomly when creating our gifts. Bows can be ordered in most any basic color when requested for an additional charge.

Why is my gift more than the base price shown in red?
A:
The price shown in red is for the base which may be a couch, chair, boat, plaque, etc. There is a cost for each additional bear and accessory you add to your base. This seems to be the best way to price our gifts since each item is completely different. Our handwritten personalization is always free along with shipping and handling of orders over $50.00.

Can I place my order over the phone?
A:
We prefer that you place your order online so that there are no errors in spelling or other miscommunications. When absolutely necessary or for customers without computer access we will take their order by phone. During the holiday season, specifically in December, many times we are unable to take orders by phone due to the fact that we are extremely busy and it takes much longer to process a phone order.

How do I add a cat or dog to my gift?
A:
Simply choose the position where you would like your pet and instead of using the "Select Your Bear" drop down box use the "Select Your Accessory" drop down box and scroll down to "Dogs & Pets" to make your choice. If you would like your pet's name personalized free, simply type it in the "Name" box for that same position.
If you would like to add a dog or cat head to a Bears on Plaques gift, they are available when ordering the same as all the bears.
Q:
Can I get my chair painted a specific color?
A:
Yes, painting of the small chair, the recliner and the round or square backed loveseat is $3.99 for our standard white, pink, blue or purple; $4.99 for red or green and $5.99 for a custom color, as long as it is available.
